Piece of Me...-
My
name is Laura.
I am:
- a daughter and a sister -
I
have two loving parents and two younger brothers. I am the oldest child and the only girl.
- a student -
I am a senior in highschool and have been an honors student all my life.
- a friend -
I have made several friends over the years by participating in various
activities and attending many places.
My past:
I have lived in the same state, the same
city, and the same house my whole life. I have grown up in the country where there are not only few people, but few lights
and little civilization as well. It is quiet, peaceful, and we have lots of privacy. My brothers and used to play baseball and soccer in our front yard and play lots of games like
hide and go seek around our property. One of my favorite things I used to do was build huge forts and sleep in them at
night.
I attended a local Christian school during elementary school and became
best friends with a girl down my street. I went to her house almost every day. Both of us started playing soccer and
became members of the local 4-H livestock club. We played soccer for 3 years and were members of 4-H club for
5 years. In the 4-H club I showed animals and participated in many competitions throughout the state.Because of my membership
in 4-H, I now have goats and chickens. I also have a cat and a rabbit. I used to have a few steers, a horse, and
dogs.
In 8th grade I began
attending another Christian school and have been there ever since. Because it is about an hour away from my house
and I have such an excessive amount of homework, I don't really have that much free time. I played softball for a year, am
a member of several clubs, and do alot of volunteer work. I am now a senior in highschool and will be graduating in the spring of this
year.
My Future Plans:
I plan to attend college, most likely a local college until I get a better feel for what I want to do.
I have been thinking about possibly entering into the medical field, but I am still not sure yet. My parents are doctors and
I have had the opportunity to see the impact of them helping others through their experiences as physicians. I also love
to travel and hope to vistit many places over the world. I would love to do missions work, possibly medical missions, in Africa
one day as well. One of my favorite hobbies is photography and I hope to do this if
I travel around the world.
